Title: Clappers appear, shouting banned... How was the offline concert?
“A lot of people who were involved came to the concert, and they said that the LOVEs obeyed the rules and praised them.”
Baekho, a member of the boy group NU'EST, expressed his gratitude to the fans at the solo concert held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul on the 27th of last month. It was thanks to the fans that the concert was held safely because the audience did not break rules such as distancing and shouting in the offline performance that was held in half anticipation and half worry.
The audience calmly watched the performance while wearing masks and holding clappers and light sticks. In the offline concert, there were no fanchants or shouts, which are considered the most worrying points. Notably, the thing that stood out the most in this performance was the 'Paper Clapper'. NU'EST produced and distributed the placard provided as a clapper to the fans when entering the concert. In the concert hall, fans responded to the stage by using this clapper instead of shouting. The clapper made of thick paper was loud enough to heat up the atmosphere without shouting. The members of NU'EST also said that they were able to know the response of the fans thanks to the clapper, and said that there was no difficulty in communication during the performance.
At the scene, officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Songpa-gu Office came to watch the concert progress. Hosting an offline concert was difficult in many ways, but an exemplary performance example was created through the concerted efforts of the artists as well as the agency and the audience.
