[enter-talk] IDOL WHO SAID "OUR COUNTRY" YESTERDAY ON VAPP
Kang Daniel released a video related to his fandom name yesterday and he said
"Yeah, and also everyone! There are 2 ways of elections in our country"
(t/n: There are several ways to use "We/Our" in Korean: 우리 (person talking included/given importance) and 저희("not including" person talking. For convenience we will write JH for 저희 and UR for 우리 below)
Right now, the video was re-uploaded without that part
The National Institute of Language:
"The expression "JH country" isn't permitted. By using JH, it reduces the relationship between the speaker and the object for example, you can say "JH house" "JH school" "JH neighborhood". But you can't reduce the country saying "JH country"."
There are a lot of celebrities who got into controversies in the past for saying JH country, so I'm shocked he still uses this term.
original post: here
1. I'm not even his fan but criticizing him for something like that is just weird. It's not like he committed a crime, so please leave him alone already
2. I seriously don't know why this is worth the criticism
3. He isn't belittling the country, he's just ignorant
4. But even me, even though I've been taught that we should say "UR country" I still make the mistake with "JH country" from time to time....
5. He's just ignorant, he should just study
6. Why are fans shielding him for this? Just admit he's ignorant and he should fix it next time
7. He should just never repeat the same mistake, but why are his fans almost making it sound like they're praising him for his mistake?
8. It's not like he committed a crime, so it's not that serious but... I hope he fixes his mistake
9. He just showed how ignorant he was, but it's not that deep
10. Why are there so many comments shielding him...? Can you guys just admit that he made a mistake here?
